DMD is a condition that changes as time goes by. Physicians and others often recognize key “stages” in the progression of the condition. They use these key stages to guide their recommendations about care, though these stages can be a rather artificial distinction. Still, it can be useful to use the stages to identify the kind of interventions that are recommended at any particular time and what you should expect of your care team at that time.
